Indigo Wood told his family recently it was a matter of when – not if – he would be hit by a car while riding to work. On Friday, his words proved prophetic when a driver accidentally collided with Mr Wood in evening peak-hour traffic on Wellington Street, Collingwood. ”I went into her left-hand front panel and headlights and, according to all the witnesses, I went up into the air, over the bonnet and did a complete somersault, bike still attached, and landed on my helmet and then on to my back on the road,” he said. ”The helmet is a complete write-off.” The accident has left him with swollen knees.
