For the past eight years Beach Road Cyclist (BRC) has been at the forefront of voicing the safety concerns of on-road cyclists – particularly those relating to Beach Road in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs.

As all road riders know, safety is the major issue confronting cyclists in Australia and around the world.

• First to support Vic Police in ‘Shared Respect’ Self-Regulated Code of Conduct for Cyclists initiative
• First with Beach Road Clearway campaign and concept.
• First to produce Code of Conduct with Vic Police and Vic Roads
• First to advocate to local government that off-road shared bicycle paths do not cater for all riders, especially bunch and training cyclists.
• First to work with Vic Police on issues relating to the “Hell Ride”
• First to oppose the introduction of ten extra traffic lights and narrowing on Beach Road of the so-called “cycling refuges”
